Yes, you heard us right, the intelligence community — for intercepting the letter from Osama bin Laden’s lieutenant and top strategist, Ayman al Zawahiri, to Abu Musab al Zarqawi, head of al-Qaeda in Iraq and notorious for his beheadings of hostages. Zawahiri’s message lays out al-Qaeda strategy in Iraq, and the region, in detail. As Gen. George McClellan exclaimed when he intercepted Robert E. Lee’s plan for the Antietam campaign of 1862: “Now I know what to do!”
